Deal or no deal for Newcastle ace?

Callum Wilson has proved invaluable to Newcastle United this season and is attracting admirers far and wide.

The 32-year-old striker has one more year left on his contracvt at St James’ Park and up until now has not looked like he’s going to sign a new deal just yet.

England boss Gareth Southgate watched him score in the Magpies’ 4-1 win at Burnley on Saturday and a call-up to the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 finals looks likely.

With Atletico Madrid and AC Milan having already expressed an interest in January and more clubs expected to be linked over the summer, Wilson is playing down the transfer gossip.

“The future? Finish the next four games,” he told reporters. “My first thought is finish the season strong and then try to get myself into the tournament in the summer, and then I am contracted to Newcastle still so will be back in pre-season.”

We shall see.
