Swansea have had a bid accepted for Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas.
The deal for the 26-year-old is reportedly worth £15m with another potential £1.5m in add-ons.
After losing Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton, then being thumped 4-0 by Manchester United on Saturday, manager Paul Clement was under no illusion that some of the £45m transfer funds needed to be reinvested in strengthening the squad quickly.
“The need has been reinforced by the performances and the results,” he said after the defeat. “The moment Gylfi’s going you know you need to strengthen.
“Without him, Llorente and Ki (Sung-yueng) we are weaker.
“We still have a good squad, but we absolutely need more quality players to come in so we have a chance of being competitive this year.”
